How to Assemble and Maintain the SP180T

In a previous post we demonstrated how to assemble and maintain the SP180 PointOne Filter with Bucket Adapter Kit.

Sawyer now offers a new model of this unit called the SP180T.  This model now incorporates the Squeeze Filter with the Bucket Adapter Kit.

Now the filter not only can attach to the bucket for a gravity system, it can be attached to a Sawyer Squeeze Pouch or a plastic bottle!

Check out this video which demonstrates the filter technology as well as how to assemble and maintain the filter.

  1. I went through the whole page and looks great and one thing I need to know is how long does one bucket would get filtered and are there large size to obtain to use in one large area or pond?
I am working on water project for South Sudan and we need to build water Reservoir as there is dry season between December and March and we need to treat the water or filter large amount in one place than individual home that I need help to buy some of these units. If possible, I will try with few to see if it can help me. Many are lacking clean water to drink and many are dying due to water related diseases.
I hope to hear from you soon and we will take off from there

    • Hi Richard,

Thanks for your comment. One filter attached to a 5 gallon bucket can filter up to 295 gallons per day. You can attach multiple filters to much larger containers as well. The larger the container and the more water in the container, the more head pressure there is creating a faster flow rate.

Here’s a video with more details about the SP180: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u24IbFb–gA

If you are interested in learning more about our filters or purchasing filters, please email me directly at stacey@sawyer.com.

      Thank you Richard!
