About Sawyer

Sawyer is an American outdoor gear company…with a mission.

Since 1984, Sawyer Products has offered the best, most technologically advanced solutions for protection against sun, bugs, water, and injuries. Making outdoor recreational users happy and safe is only half of our goal though.

We want to help change the world.

To do that, we’re dedicated to eliminating two of the biggest causes of death in the world: bad water and mosquito bites.

Sawyer fights mosquito bites through our Permethrin, an insect repellent treatment for clothing that provides protection for U.S. troops and outdoor enthusiasts and was adapted for use on mosquito nets now widely used in Africa, saving millions of lives. Sawyer partnered with the World Health Organization (WHO) to conduct the underlying studies that led to the widespread use of repellent on mosquito netting.

We are also the proud developers of point-of-use water filters that filter contaminated water to levels cleaner than U.S. bottled water. Developed using advanced kidney dialysis filtration technology, our hollow fiber membrane filtersare the fastest, easiest, and most cost efficient way to deliver clean water anywhere. They are small, portable, don’t require chemicals, a power source, or trained operator for use or maintenance.

This blog focuses on our efforts to eliminate bad water across the globe.  We are so excited to share stories of our water filtration systems being used in the field and aim to highlight organizations and individuals who are distributing these systems in over 70 countries.  Sawyer would like to present testimonies of lives changed due to the ability for individuals, families, and communities to now have access to clean water for life.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog.   If you have any personal stories about an experience with Sawyer PointOne water filters please send an email to Stacey@sawyer.com and we will be sure to feature your story about the work you or your organization is doing.
